Japanese and South Korean collaborative project

I have just returned from South Korea where I was invited by Michael Huffman as an authority and adviser on applied zoopharmacognosy to a group of distinguished professors and doctors from Kyoto University and Pusan National University.

The aim of our talks was to discuss whether there was a cross over between animal self selection and the investigation of plant based drugs for similar human conditions. In addition to the conference we were invited to tour the facilities of Pusan University and some of the Buddhist temples surrounding Pusan.

Catnip study at Bath Cats and Dogs Home

We are pleased to reveal the latest trial at Bath Cats and Dogs Home:

Catnip herb vs. catnip powder

Cats	Catnip herb	Catnip powder
Courtney:	When Courtney first smelt this one she began to purr. She did not show much interest in the herb but did start to eat a little bit after about five minutes.	When Courtney smelt this Catnip she began to purr very loudly and for a long period of time. She was also licking the Catnip for about 30 seconds. Courtney seemed to prefer this Catnip.
Timothy:	Timothy smelt this Catnip first, however didn’t really seem to acknowledge it being there.	Timothy was sniffing this Catnap for about 20 seconds. He licked this Catnip once.
Sweep:	Sweep sniffed this Catnap a couple of times but hardly reacted to it.	Sweep loved this one! He was rolling around in it and licking it off himself for about five minutes. He definitely preferred the powdered Catnip.
Molly:	Molly had no interest in the Catnip herb. She did not go over to it.	Molly was sniffing the powdered Catnip for a long time. She also ingested quite large quantities of it. Molly got very hyper afterwards, playing on her scratching post.
Francis:	Francis smelt this one first then rolled around in it for a couple of seconds. He seemed to prefer this one.	Francis sniffed this Catnip twice and then rubbed his head against it once.
Timmy:	Timmy sniffed this one a couple of times and then rolled around in it for a couple of seconds.	Timmy sniffed and rolled around in the Catnip for about five minutes. He seemed to be much more interested in the powdered Catnip.

CPD requirement

In order to maintain professional standards, the annual CPD requirements have been extended with immediate effect to incorporate the following: All graduates will now be required to present a 30 minute video per year of yourself delivering an Applied Zoopharmacognosy session, per species you are qualified in. Continued membership of the register will be dependant on the successful review of this material.

This new requirement is in addition to the previously stated 8 hours
